The Women’s Health to Wealth, as part of their health screening of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) like hypertension, Diabetes and cervical cancer screening held a screening session at the Sekyere Central district to promote the health and well-being of women within the district.
We arrived at Kyebi on the 19/07/24 at around 9:00 AM. At this small village we met women with an enthusiasm to learn more about their health . We explained how important it is to keep their bodies healthy, starting with simple checks like vital signs (Temperature, respiration, blood pressure and pulse), and especially to properly care for their cervix. A talk was given on the need for cervical cancer and NCD screening to promote the quality of life of the women. We educated them on the phases of the screening and all the processes involved. The women listened carefully and some shared their own stories about how to keep their bodies healthy.
They were happy to see friendly faces carrying knowledge and care. We showed them how small steps like screenings can catch problems early before they become big worries. The women were anxious and wanted to know about cervical cancer and its related effects on women. To my observations, their expectations were met and their questions were answered. They were educated on the conditions of the screening and ushered into the screening rooms.
As the sun set that day, Women's Health to Wealth knew they had made a difference. The women in both towns felt more confident and at ease about their health. They thanked us with warm hugs and promises to take better care of themselves.
This success story was a reminder that when we come together to help and support each other, magic can happen. Women's Health to Wealth pledged to keep bringing smiles and health to towns near and far, lighting up lives with hope and well-being.
