Martha Saanwa is a 34-year-old woman who hails from Damarko, Dayame Amomaho, a rural farming community in the Kyenkyenasi District where she resides with her family, she embarked on her Antenatal journey with the Women’s Health to Wealth, that not only transformed her own life but also, enriched the life of her newborn and the community around her. In the community where Martha Saanwa resides is the Kyenkyenasi CHPS Compound in the Dormaa East District where basic health care services are provided to its indigenes and puts smiles on the faces of their women. Among the many women is Martha, who was not an exception. She benefited from some of the package ( PNVs, birthing kits, and post-birthing kits) that put smiles on her face as well.
Martha Saanwa was no stranger to the challenges that often accompany childbirth, especially in rural areas where access to quality healthcare can be limited and expensive. However, Martha's story took a different turn when she started the Antenatal Clinic at the Kyenkyenasi `Health Center and benefited from the essential free packages offered by Women's Health to Wealth during her pregnancy. She was provided with comprehensive support and guidance, ensuring that she received the essential care needed for a healthy pregnancy. Martha felt empowered and reassured knowing that she had a dedicated midwife by her side throughout her pregnancy journey.
When the time came for Martha to deliver her baby girl, she found herself at the Kyenkyenasi CHPS facility, where Midwife Rebecca Oppong, a trained and competent midwife attended to her needs (birthing kits,). With expert care and intervention, Martha safely welcomed her baby girl. She was equipped with post-birthing kits for both herself and her newborn and postnatal services and counselling offered to her before discharge.
Martha's Pregnancy journey also served as a beacon of hope for other women in the Dormaa East District. Her story inspired confidence in the local community, highlighting the importance of accessible and comprehensive maternal healthcare services.
Through initiatives like Women's Health to Wealth, women like Martha are empowered to take charge of their health and well-being, ensuring a brighter future for themselves and their families. Martha's journey is a testament to the transformative power of support, education, and access to essential healthcare services, paving the way for healthier generations to come.
